The Desert of Stolen Dreams 5

  1. THE DESERT OF STOLEN DREAMS 5 - Two black ink and gray pencil drawings on 11 x 14 size vellum paper. They appear in the book, "The Desert of Stolen Dreams," by Robert Silverberg, published by Underwood-Miller in 1981.

The evil hexer you see in the bottom picture may be a fictional character in this imagined fantasy tale, but the evil spirit he represents abides in the real world today. It wears contemporary clothes, it walks along our city streets, it plants bombs wherever it finds a place to kill as many of us as it can. It grows larger every day . . . It's largest component is called, "Isis".

No human ever voiced a more profound truth than did POGO, when he said, "We have found the enemy. He is us!"
